A popular event on the Broadmeadows, Craigieburn and surrounding districts’ Calendars each year, the festival attracts in excess of 20,000 people.
Hume Mayor Geoff Porter said there will be something for all ages to enjoy, including free kids’ activities, stage performances, and food. He added:
“The Hume community loves the CFA torchlight parade, fireworks, and Craigieburn Art Show. We are thrilled to keep bringing these components back to the Craigieburn Festival.”
The Art Show will give visitors an opportunity to see up to 200 artworks on display at the Craigieburn Sports Stadium.
The festival, to be held on March 3, will also welcome a new event in the Craigieburn Twilight Run, with registrations available on the day or, alternatively, online.
Traditionally, flyer printing has listed an impressive entertainment lineup and this year’s event on March 3 is no different, according to Cr. Porter, who said the live performances will be headlined by acclaimed songwriter and vocalist Nathaniel, who launched to prominence on X-Factor.
He said there will also be a huge list of activities available, including a trackless train, cooking classes, craft, reptile display, jumping castle, face painting, and the popular animal farm.
Various cuisines including French, Himalayan, and Mexican will be available from food trucks and the day will culminate with a major fireworks display at 9:30 pm.
