Volunteer opportunities for Broadmeadows residents
Residents of Broadmeadows are invited to attend an online Zoom session to learn all about volunteering in the Hume City Council area and the opportunities that are currently available.
Current volunteers working in the area will be in attendance to discuss their volunteer work and its benefits, alongside answering any questions the audience may have.
Volunteering can be of great benefit to the community – allowing organisations to assist more people in need, promote worthy causes or achieve results to benefit communities. Anyone can volunteer, and working with a volunteer organisation can be extremely rewarding. Not only can volunteers learn new skills or hone existing skills, but they can also meet a wide variety of new friends and make broader connections within their community.
Volunteering is also an excellent way to gain experience in a new field if you are considering a new career or change of workplace, and it is a great way for young people to explore different options and to learn workplace skills, such as communication and teamwork. For older people, volunteering can help them find a new sense of purpose and help keep minds active after retirement.
Councils that offer volunteering opportunities will sometimes use poster printing to advertise to the local community.
