Speed networking luncheon
Networking is one of the most important that a business person can do to help their business to grow. There are numerous networking events held throughout the Broadmeadows area monthly; they are a great chance to hand out promotional literature and to collect referrals. Those who plan to attend networking events, and every business person should attend at least one a month, make sure they arrange for business card and brochure printing in Broadmeadows well in advance of the event.
On Sept. 14, the Women’s Network Australia (WNA) is presenting a speed networking luncheon at CQ Functions in Melbourne from 11:30 am to 2:15 pm. The event is $75 for WNA members and $95 for non-members.
Speed networking is similar to speed dating in that you get time a short time to talk to a number of different people. The set up of this speed networking event involves two circles, an inner and an outer one. Those in each circle sit across from each other and have 3 minutes to share their information. After the 3 minutes those sitting in the outer circle move one space around the circle. Before the event begins, attendees will have the chance to have a pre-luncheon drink. A hot and cold buffet will be available before the networking begins and dessert and tea or coffee will be available after. There will also be a cash bar after the event.
The WNA has some suggestions on how to be successful at speed networking. They suggest you bring at least 70 business cards, that you have an introductory pitch prepared, that you listen to the other person and that you try to be memorable to those you meet.
