Local learning on offer in Broadmeadows
Broadmeadows residents looking to learn new skills for a career or simply increase their knowledge can find out more about the opportunities provided by the Hume Multiversity programme this month.
The scheme, which has been running since 2013, brings together courses from Victoria University, La Trobe University, Deakin University and the Kangan Institute, with classes taught at the council’s learning centres in Broadmeadows and Craigieburn.
Courses are available at all levels, from undergraduate to diplomas, and students study via video conferences and online learning, as well as through face-to-face support from visiting lecturers.
This month, the council is holding an information session for potential students to find out more about the courses, admission process, and fees, and even to sign up for those with a mid-year intake.
Representatives from each of the institutions will be at the session to answer questions and help with enrolments. Catalogue printing will no doubt also be used to provide information for potential students to take home and study at their leisure.
Courses with mid-year starts include sports development, psychological science and information technology, as well as basic courses to prepare students for further university study.
The information session takes place on Tuesday, June 9th at The Age library in Broadmeadows from 10am to 1pm. More details can also be found on the Hume City Council website, as well as on the institutions’ websites.
