What's Happening in Broadmeadows, VIC…

Improve communication to help environment in Broadmeadows

Broadmeadows residents with a passion for environmentally supportive community projects are welcome to attend a session that will help them conduct respectful conversations and win arguments or at least have constructive exchanges with people that hold opposing views.

Communication and narrative are key when it comes to describing experiences within the community. Individual conversations are powerful tools in the armoury of persuasion, especially if a speaker understands how to connect with others, and, more importantly, where environmental issues are concerned.

By learning communication skills, environment champions can be informative, join in debates and also engender support for important local issues about which they are passionate. The session in Broadmeadows is underpinned by Friends of the Earth and will include education, activities and feedback.

Printing services are often utilised in order to provide information about local sustainability-style projects.

Hume Enviro Champions – Masterclass five, Storytelling and conversations is next happening on Saturday 26th July, from 1pm until 4pm. The location is the Hume Global Learning Centre in Broadmeadows. To be eligible to attend, it is necessary to volunteer, study, work or live in Hume. The session is free and is the fifth in a series of eight, though people are welcome to join any session. Afternoon tea will be provided and attendees are asked bring a tablet or laptop, plus a pen and paper.
