What's Happening in Broadmeadows, VIC…

Hume hopes to clean up with waste management event tickets

Business waste will be the topic for the first Business Efficiency Network Forum to be held in Hume City.

The Business Efficiency Network is open to businesses from around the City of Hume, including Broadmeadows, and is a collaboration between the council, government and local companies and organisations that work to improve efficiency in resource use and energy.

The first forum for 2016 will focus on how waste can be used as a resource for businesses rather than just being disposed of. Speakers will include waste resource management specialists and business leaders, and will offer information about managing waste and improving management processes, along with case studies on what other companies are already doing.

A new initiative, the Advisory System for Processing, Innovation and Resource Exchange (ASPIRE) will also be launched at the forum. The ASPIRE programme has been designed to reuse or exchange resources instead. Companies can register on the website and submit details of the waste they want to share to be connected with other firms that could use their products.

Attendees might also like to take digital business cards along to the meeting to swap with any colleagues with whom they may be able to partner.

The event will be held at the Hume Global Learning Centre in Broadmeadows on Friday, April 29. The forum is free and places can be registered through the city council website.
