Garden play area opens for Act for Kids

The Act for Kids charity in Riggal Street, Broadmeadows has recently opened a new play area for children who visit the centre.

The facility, which was only opened in October last year, is the first in Victoria and already has 70 children on its waiting list. Act for Kids offers free therapy for children who may be at risk in the community as well as giving vulnerable families some much needed support.

The new garden and play area is part of a $300,000 refurbishment which the facility has recently undergone and was officially opened in mid-March, this year. The area has been named “Lily’s Garden” and will give children a safe place to both play and learn in, with Kate Mills, CEO of the Property Industry Foundation saying it was a beautiful place for the children.

Victorian property giants Lendlease and the Property Industry Foundation who partnered together, have been formally acknowledged by the Act for Kids charity for their generosity and contribution in redeveloping the centre.

General manager of Lendlease, Joe Kokai said he was “delighted to be able to give something back” and had worked with an amazing team of suppliers, subcontractors and consultants. He was presented with a commemorative plaque. Corporate Gifts such as this can be provided by local Print shops.
