Festival to light up Broadmeadows precinct
The inaugural Hume Winter Lights Festival will soon be set in and around the Broadmeadows Town Hall and will give locals an opportunity to enjoy a top line-up of entertainment, food and artistic displays.
Headlining the entertainment programme will be electronic acts The Presets and Sneaky Sound System, both internationally renowned. They will be supported by live music from local artists.
The event will also bring to the centre of town displays of interactive artworks and large-scale art projections, including works by local artists. Their artworks, which are set to be projected onto the Town Hall and a number of nearby buildings, will provide a captivating display and backdrop to the many events and activities planned to take place on the night.
A Hume City spokesperson said there will be something for all attendees at the festival.
Acclaimed and local music artists who will feature throughout the night-time festivities will include Super Mande Percussion, DJ Emma Peters and DJ MzRizk, while revellers will also have an opportunity to create their own rhythm at a special workshop focused on African drumming.
Poster printing campaigns have often helped to advertise major events such as this throughout Hume City.
The Winter Lights Festival, to be held on 18 June, will also give attendees a chance to enjoy a mulled wine or warming drink at an indoor bar, and book an igloo to enjoy a tasty treat under the stars.
