Change on the horizon for Broadmeadows
Broadmeadows is set for a revamp designed to increase jobs, create new homes, and bring new facilities to the area.
Hume City Council has created a draft proposal to revitalise the area around its Broadmeadows office, the Town Hall and the Hume Global Learning Centre.
The council’s vision for the area is that it will become a place where people not only live, but also come to work and to socialise, with events happening during the day and at night.
Known as Hume Central, the precinct is set to include new footpaths and cycle ways, public open spaces for entertainment and recreational activities, and a mix of retail, office, and residential developments.
Printing services have been used to create a set of drawings, maps, and information about the proposals. The designs will be on display from now until Monday, November 17th at Hume Global Learning Centre and at the council's customer service centre.
Two sessions will also be held by council staff for people who would like to know more or have questions about the plans. These will take place at the Learning Centre on Saturday, November 8th and Wednesday, November 13th from 11am to 2pm.
Residents are also invited to give feedback on the plans through the city council's website. Detailed information on the development can also be found online.
