Business excellence to be celebrated in Hume City

Businesses from Broadmeadows and around the City of Hume can now put their names forward for this year’s business awards.

The awards are open to any business operating in the Hume City boundaries and nominations can be made by the owners themselves, employees, associates or customers.

This year there are 11 categories, celebrating a range of sectors and specialities. Categories include new and emerging small business, hospitality and tourism, retail and manufacturing as well as awards for sustainability. One firm will also be crowned overall business of the year.

Nominations will be assessed initially and shortlisted entries will then be assessed by a panel of judges who may also undertake a site visit or conduct interviews with the firm’s owners.

The awards are a good opportunity for local companies to promote themselves within the Hume community and successful companies could promote their new title to clients and customers by having new promotional materials produced by using printing services offering Stationery printing and business card printing to reflect the accolade.

Nominations close on Monday August 10 and finalists will be contacted in mid-September. The winners will be revealed at a gala dinner to be held at Melbourne Airport’s Parkroyal Hotel in October; tickets for the dinner will go on sale later in the year.

Nominations can be made online through the Hume City Council website and more information can be obtained from the council’s Economic Development department.
