Broadmeadows to host nutrition for dogs course
A course will be run this November in Broadmeadows for people interested in learning about pet nutrition.
The Lifewise Pet Nutrition course will be run over one day and will teach practical nutrition for dogs. The course is designed for dog owners, rescue groups, pet store owners and staff and will teach the basics of good nutrition such as how much protein, minerals, fats and vitamins are necessary for good health and it will also highlight specific needs individual dogs may have.
More technical information will be shared, especially genetic nutrition which explains how nutrients are utilised in the body.
Participants will be taught about the manufacturing of dog food and how to recognise quality ingredients and how to read and understand food labels. There will also be a module on how to ramp up a dog’s performance by applying specific principles of quality nutrition.
Participants are requested to bring writing materials and a sketch book with them on the day. A workbook which outlines the day’s topics will be supplied. Stationery printers may be used to create materials for workshops such as this. Lunch is provided as well as morning and afternoon tea.
