Broadmeadows to host fundraising event
A Broadmeadows community project is set to host its annual fundraiser later this year to support good causes in the area.
The Good People Act Now (GPAN) project based in Broadmeadows is once more inviting members of the community, friends and partners to its yearly Trivia Night Fundraiser. All proceeds from the upcoming event will form two scholarships that come with the Eurydice Dixon Gender Equality Champions Award (EDGECA). Two young people from Broadmeadows will receive the EDGECA for their work championing gender equality within the community in their daily life.
The award was created in 2018 by the GPAN Youth Action Group after the death of a young Melbourne woman called Eurydice Dixon. The award recipients will receive their 2023 EDGECA at the annual Trivia Night. Organisations rewarding individuals often employ expert graphic design services to create bespoke certificates to bestow on recipients.
The event will also feature a raffle with prizes to be won. Entertainment from talented young people in the community, as well as food and drinks, are to be provided. There will also be GPAN merchandise on sale.
The Trivia Night Fundraiser will take place at Broadmeadows Town Hall on Friday, July 7. The venue can be found on Dimboola Road in Broadmeadows, and the event will start at 6pm and end at 11pm. The fundraiser is supported by Hume City Council and Banksia Gardens Community Services.
