Authentic farm experience re-opens in north-west Melbourne
With the winter school holidays just around the corner, Broadmeadows residents have an opportunity to head out to neighbouring Digger’s Rest for a family fun day.
Animal Land Children’s Farm, a family operated and owned business, is pleased to welcome back the public from the end of June.
The farm is set up to give visitors an authentic, practical hands-on farm experience, unlike numerous other animal attractions. It provides children a unique opportunity to touch, feed, hold and ride the animals. Visitors can expect to see ponies, cows, pigs, sheep, ducks, goats, chickens and donkeys as well as some unusual animals such as alpacas, deer and peacocks.
Real farm experiences include a tractor ride, cow milking, a pony ride, collecting eggs and feeding animals as well as planting a tree. A tour of the farm is available providing visitors with an educational experience as they learn about the challenges of farming, sustainability practices, how food is prepared in order to be distributed and water conservation. Booking for tours is essential due to the restrictions in place as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and numbers will be capped at 20 guests.
Visitors wishing to stay the weekend are able to book accommodation at the farm, which offers five self-contained units and a full continental breakfast. Businesses utilise brochure printing services to advertise to the public.
Entry prices and tour booking information can be found on its website.
