World-class stand-up comedian at The Solbar

Comedy fans living in and around Maroochydore may be persuaded to buy tickets for Jacques Barrett in May. Local flyer printing is an obvious way in which stand-up shows are often advertised within a community.

Barrett is a favourite of comedy clubs and festivals in Australia and has been on the comedy circuit for twenty years. Lately, he has been on a world tour, including the UK, South-east Asia, Eastern Europe and South Africa. He is much revered for his quick thinking and rapid, merciless delivery and his ability to riff on a contemporary narrative; his skill in weaving topical material into his act, coupled with impeccable timing, has made him a sought-after MC and first feature act. He also uses characterisation and performance skills which can result in some poignancy, leaving the audiences thinking as well as laughing after the show is over. Highlighting his charming stage persona, Jimeoin has previously said of him:

“The man is a Championi!”

And, Daniel Sloss says that Barrett is:

“Effortlessly hilariously, joyously dark…”

Kyle Legacy the “funny Scouse lad” is hosting, along with Sandeep Totlani, a self-proclaimed dentist, pizza-eating competition winner, comedian and “lovely bloke” in support.

Funny Cost Comedy presents Jacques Barrett at the Solbar, Maroochydore, QLD on Thursday, May 25 at 7pm. Tickets cost from $30.60. The event is hosted by Kyle Legacy.
