Toy-building frenzy coming to the Sunshine Coast

Lego fans from Maroochydore can head down the coast next month, with the second annual Brick Event taking place.

Last year it was held for the first time, and after its success the Sunshine Coast Council has decided to hold another bigger one this year.

The show will include creations from the Queensland Lego User Group, whose members have used their private collections to build a range of displays sure to interest Lego fans of all ages.

More than 40 displays have been listed to take part in this year’s show, which runs over two days.

Themes include iconic movies such as Star Wars and Harry Potter, and new and classic Lego themes such as Castle and Friends. There will also be a Lego City display complete with working trains.

For those who want to try out their own creative skills, build and play tables will be available with plenty of bricks for everyone.

Catalogue printing is often used by Lego to showcase the latest products, and keen builders will be able to pick up some new sets at the show, with Lego merchandise for sale. Other products on sale include Lego games and jewellery.

The Lego Brick Event takes place on Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th from 9am to 4.30pm at the Lake Kawana Community Centre. Tickets will be available at the door.
