Summer sounds to make waves in Maroochydore

Fans of the Beach Boys in Maroochydore will be glad to know that a new US band with a flavour of surf rock will be heading to Australia to kickstart the summer.

The Beach Boys have been an inspiration for southern Californian band, SUN ROOM. The four-piece band have also drawn inspiration from The Ventures, The Birds and The Seeds, with a more contemporary input from Skegss, FIDLAR and Wallows.

Cutting their teeth in house parties in the surf community in California, the boys have created a sound that is both nostalgic and refreshingly new and energetic. The band has already travelled to twenty-four countries, supported Louis Tomlinson and Inhaler, and has had songs featured on the popular Netflix show, Outer Banks.

The band comprises Luke Asgian (vocals and guitar), Ashton Minnich (guitar), Thomas Rhodes (drums) and Max Pinamonti (bass guitar). Each has flavoured the band with their own individual style, so as well as classic surf, the acoustic genre touches on classic rock, new wave and a sprinkling of soul and metal.

Merchandise is a big part of the modern band scene, and tour Posters with attention-grabbing graphic design are a popular choice amongst fans.

SUN ROOM will be appearing at The Solbar, Maroochydore, QLD on Thursday 28th December at 7pm. Tickets cost $39.30, and supporting acts are yet to be announced.
