Plenty to do on the Sunshine Coast this summer

Maroochydore residents looking for inspiration for holiday activities are being offered a helping hand from the council this year.

The Sunshine Coast Council has used printing services to create a guide to all the events taking place around the Coast over the festive period.

The brochure, put together in conjunction with My Weekly Preview, includes the Christmas and New Year events organised by the council, as well as activities for all the family throughout December and January.

Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson said he hoped the publication would help residents enjoy the summer and support local events, as well as spending time with friends and family.

Among the major festive events listed are the Christmas tree trail with displays across the Coast, carol concerts, and the New Year’s Eve celebrations being held in Mooloolaba.

Residents can also find information about activities designed to keep children happy during the school holidays, such as craft sessions and family movie screenings.

Local businesses have likewise advertised in the brochure to outline their own Christmas plans, such as Santa visits and photos sessions at the Maroochydore Homemaker Centre, from now until Christmas.

The brochure was delivered to households at the end of last month, but Maroochydore residents who have not received one, or would like another copy, can find them at the council service centre in First Avenue or at local shops.
