The weekend following Australia Day will be full of barbecue smells at Mooloolaba, near Maroochydore.
An event for the whole community and surrounding areas, this will appeal to everyone who loves a good Aussie barbie.
The barbecue will cater to all tastes and cultures, with different styles of cooking, various flavours and a choice of cuts of meat. Those who prefer seafood will be catered for, as will those who love chicken, pork, lamb, or beef. Meat will be grilled or smoked, roasted, or cooked on a rotisserie. Those who love their meat marinated will not be disappointed either.
In conjunction with this event, the Australian Barbecue Alliance will be staging a national competition for the best barbecue cooking teams in Australia to compete for money and prizes.
Food trucks will be present with further barbecue offerings, salad accompaniments and beer, and live performers will entertain the crowd, while jumping castles and a petting zoo will be just some of the activities for children to enjoy. The day will conclude with a firework display. There will probably be banner printing used by the stall holders.
The MooloolaBaBQ Festival will be open on Australia Day weekend, January 28, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at the Wharf Tavern at River Esplanade and Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba. This is a family event with free entry for children under the age of five.
