The Mooloolaba Surf Lifesaving Club celebrates its 90th anniversary this year, as locals and visitors to our shores continue to support the many lifesaving volunteers on our beaches. Summer is fast approaching and it is time to get behind our local club.
The 2012/13 membership drive has begun in earnest, with half price club membership available until the end of September - right on time for the start of beach patrol season on September 22. There are also prizes on offer, including a trip to the Barossa Valley.
The major rebuilding of Mooloolaba surf club is almost complete. The view from the newly remodelled function room deck is outstanding, with 180 degree views over the ocean. Almost all function dates for 2012 are already booked. The club, which has 16,000 members, plus 500 active lifesavers, looks to be riding on a wave of success.
Club members, local sponsors, and active lifesavers all play a role in keeping our beaches safe and our kids healthy. Local printing services also provide support by offering a great range of club shirts, T-Shirts, and more, so residents can show their support in style.
The club, featuring live music in comfortable surroundings and all within a beach ball throw of the Pacific Ocean, is sure to inspire increased support for our Nippers (Junior Activities Club) and the volunteer beach patrol team.
For active or casual types, there are lots of ways to help our surf clubs, while enjoying all the best of our subtropical lifestyle. For Mooloolaba locals, it seems that summer cannot come soon enough.
