Maroochydore residents encouraged to be responsible pet owners

Residents of Maroochydore will have the opportunity to attend a Responsible Pet Ownership booth to learn valuable information about pet ownership and pick up some free goodies for dogs and fun activities for children.

The Sunshine Coast Council will be running the booths in a variety of locations across the council area, all in popular areas for exercising dogs, including Ballinger Beach.

The booth will cover topics including how best to keep pets and wildlife safe, information on microchipping and registration and the importance of picking up after dogs in public places. Great local exercise spots for dogs and issues concerning barking dogs will also be covered.

The Sunshine Coast Council is encouraging people to think “Your Pet, Your Responsibility”, and is aiming to have a region of responsible pet owners and well-cared for pets. Issues such as barking dogs often stem from dogs being bored, and this can be caused by a lack of exercise or interest.

Booths like this will often have Promotional Products, such as Pens and other small items, to give as small gifts to attendees.

The booth at Ballinger Beach, Currimundi will be held on Saturday, January 16 from 7am until 9am on the beach access path. All pet owners are encouraged to come along and ask questions relating to pet ownership and safety. For more information, see the council website.
