Innovations such as the introduction of vibrant and contemporary spaces in which to enjoy reading a book or newspaper will be among the changes being implemented by Sunshine Coast Council.
Councillor Jason O’Pray said that a flexible, unique and individual environment will be a feature of the new-look library, adding that the redesign will celebrate the local landscape of Maroochydore.
Similar to upgrades at a Beerwah and Coolum Libraries, the new discovery layout will be a major feature of Council’s latest revitalisation project at Maroochydore. Councillor O’Pray said the discovery layout had been highly successful at the other venues adding:
“The discovery layout will enable better response to community needs and enhanced customer experiences, because library staff will have more time on the library floor to assist customers, helping them find information or their next read.
The Friends of Maroochydore Library are ensuring library patrons also benefit from a new children’s area where kids will be able to read Books in quaint reading nooks with special seating. The closure of Maroochydore Library will be effective from June 8 to July 1.
Services and facilities on offer, which usually range from printing services to Wi-Fi access, will be limited while the work is being carried out. However, full library services will be available at nearby branches.Get a Free Quote for Books
