Maroochydore invited to triathlon

Residents of Maroochydore can enter a triathlon in their neighbouring beach town, Mooloolaba, this March.

The Mooloolaba Triathlon starts with a swim in Mooloolaba Beach, followed by a bike ride along the Sunshine Coast Motorway, before ending with a jog, stroll or sprint down the Esplanade that runs from one beach to the next. Interested individuals can enter the event on their own or as part of a relay team. The total distance of the triathlon is 51.5 kilometres, consisting of a 1.5km swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run.

Participants of all fitness levels and a wide age group – 15 years and above – are encouraged to participate, with benefits being the tropical weather, a finish location lined with beachside dining, free gifts for entrants and an app to allow friends and family members to track participants. Such large-scale events can benefit from banner printing, where Banners can be used to identify start and finish spots on the day.

The finish location of the race will provide athletes with a rewarding experience, as there will be an area where they can get a massage, eat and celebrate their achievement. Medical personnel will also be on hand for treatment if required.

The Mooloolaba Triathlon will begin on Saturday, 14th March from the Mooloolaba Esplanade at 6:50am, with participants asked to check-in either on the 12th or 13th to ensure entry in the event. Prices are either $237 or $270 for individuals and $320 or $338 for relay teams, depending upon general and late ticket pricing.
