The Eumundi Market is holding an Early Bird competition throughout August.
Customers who spend at least $20 in any transaction before 10:00 am, and who lodge their entry by 10:30 am, have the chance to win the prize of a $500 voucher for the market.
The Eumundi Market is held twice weekly on Saturdays and Wednesdays in Eumundi, near Maroochydore. The market has a slogan “we make it, bake it, grow it, sew it” and encourages sellers to produce their own goods for sale.
Items that can be found include art, handmade furniture and toys, personal skincare products, goods for the house and family, homemade clothes and jewellery, and fresh produce grown locally. Musicians and street performers provide entertainment. Face painters are available to amuse the children, and massagers and palm readers are available to ply their trades.
The market was begun in 1979 by Christa Barton and Gail Perry-Somers as a place for local growers and craftspeople to sell their wares. Beginning with three stalls and a total of eight visitors on their first day, the market has grown to over 600 stalls and, the organisers claim, more than 1.6 million visitors each year.
Business Cards, Brochures and Flyers are likely to be available promoting the competition, which will close on Wednesday, August 31, with the prize drawn during the first week in September.
