Fans of indie surf-style music in the Maroochydore area may wish to buy tickets for The Grogans when they play at the Solbar in March.
The Grogans are made up of three friends hailing from Melbourne. The members are Quin Grunden, who is lead vocalist and guitarist, Angus Vasic as a fellow guitarist and drummer Jordan Lewis. On a tour that encompasses Australia, New Zealand and the UK, the band will be playing songs from their 2022 album called ‘Which Way is Out’. Often, concerts and performances such as this can be effectively advertised through the use of striking graphic design that can catch the eye of passers-by in the street.
The three best friends play what can be best described as pacey surf rock, with elements of the blues, grunge and reggae to complete the sound. The boys have been together since they met in high school, forming the band in 2016. The latest single from the album is called ‘How Would You Know’, with the record due to be released in June.
Will Stoeckel is a friend and manager of the band; he allows the boys as much creative freedom as they require so they are not pushed to fulfil artificial deadlines. The band’s output is put out under a new Melbourne label, Cousin Will Records.
The Grogans are appearing at Solbar, located on Ocean Street, Maroochydore, on Sunday, March 19 at 7pm. Tickets cost from $34.45.
