Those in the Maroochydore area that like their indie music may want to buy tickets to see the band Floodlights this coming June. This is the last opportunity to see the group before they head out on a three-month international tour, which includes stops in the Netherlands and the UK. Bands often go heavy on graphic design for Posters to illuminate their presence in the community.
Floodlights came to international attention in 2019 with the EP ‘Backyard’, closely followed by a debut album ‘From a View’ in 2020. On the back of these successes, the band played festivals and shows at home, alongside such luminaries as Arctic Monkeys and Amyl and The Sniffers. So far this year, the group has already supported Black Midi in the UK and Pavement in the US. There has also been an appearance at the first Tent Pole Festival and at SXSW in Texas, US.
The four members of the indie band are rooted in their landscape. Lyrics tend to be heavyweight and considered, telling tales of Australia as home, with all its perceived beauty, juxtaposed with perceived social injustice. Fans of the group would argue that Floodlights is definitely a band that is on the up and being noticed in the right places.
Floodlights – Painting of my Time, is appearing at the Solbar, Maroochydore, QLD on Saturday, June 17 at 7pm. Tickets cost $34.20.Get a Free Quote for Posters
