Southport builders and contractors invited to safety session
The Master Builders Association of Queensland is inviting Southport-based builders and construction industry professionals to be provided with insights around Worksafe Queensland’s Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Policy.
A free afternoon workshop, the session will provide those actively working in the construction industry with all they need to know to understand their rights and responsibilities.
As the peak regulatory body for all matters relating to work health and safety throughout the state of Queensland, Worksafe Queensland inspectors play an important role in ensuring that building and construction sites follow relevant safety legislation and associated guidelines. This workshop is designed to provide those in the industry with handy tips about engaging with inspectors and what steps to follow should they be provided with any improvement notices.
Industry-specific workshops and learning events such as this can benefit from accessing printing services to assist in the preparation of workshop materials for attendees.
The afternoon’s programme will cover several key topics, including why it is important to engage with Worksafe inspectors and what their legal rights of entry and responsibilities are, as well as the rights and responsibilities of business owners and operators. It will also cover the various types of infringements and penalties that can be lawfully issued, and it will guide people through the various appeal processes.
An important event for Southport-based construction industry professionals, the information session is scheduled to run on Monday, October 18th from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Southport Sharks.
