Music fans urged to vote for Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival
Gold Coast residents from Coolangatta to Southport, Queensland, are being asked to vote for the major local gathering Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival in a search for Australia’s top event.
The popular annual festival, which offers top entertainment from some of Australia’s leading performers, has already been named among the 2014 Australian Event Award’s Top 10. It has attracted more than 36,000 votes and reached the final 10 from a field of 145 events.
Other major events to have made the cut included Byron Bay Bluesfest, Vivid Sydney and Santos Tour Down Under.
The finalists have been selected from a vast array of events covering everything from music festivals and sporting fixtures to commemorative, cultural and community events.
This year’s Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival attracted 125,000 people over four days in May, with free entertainment ongoing at 11 local venues.
Flyer and poster printing campaigns alerted crowds to the big-name artists who travelled to the Gold Coast especially to appear at the event. Many were making return visits, having featured on the program in 2013.
Residents and concert goers are encouraged to go online and vote for the Blues on Broadbeach before the closing date of November 11th. There are no limits to how many votes participants can cast.
The ultimate winner will be announced later in November at a special Australian Event Awards Industry Night of Nights.
