GO!! Show stars reunite for golden anniversary performance
The GO!! Show Golden reunion tour marks 50 years since the popular music act first appeared on television screens in Australia.
Airing for the first time on August 4th, 1964, it blazed a new trail by introducing local and live pop music to television viewers in a format not previously experienced. The show provided a perfect launch pad for teen stars.
Baby boomers from Coolangatta to Southport, Queensland, are expected to attend the Go!! Show’s golden anniversary performance on the Gold Coast.
Marking the fourth time the show has toured the country, the 2014 production features a huge number of stars, many of whom have become household names.
The entertainment program will feature early Australian rock band The Masters Apprentices and 1967 King of Pop Normie Rowe, along with Ronnie Charles, Tony Worsley, Colleen Hewett, Ross D. Wyllie, Ronnie Burns, Johnny Young, and the Mixtures, whose hits included the Push-Bike Song.
Audiences will hear many of the tunes that made these artists Australian music legends, including duets from Ronnie Burns and Young Talent Time’s Johnny Young, Brian Cadd, and Little River Band’s Glenn Shorrock and Ronnie Charles.
Show promotions, via poster printing, have produced a rare collection of famous faces that are drawing interest from all ages. Baby boomers, in particular, have been among those who booked early to see the event live on stage, on August 16th.
