Theatre festival comes to North Lakes
Moreton Bay’s Anywhere Festival will return to the North Lakes library and community centre for 2025. This all-ages festival celebrates the performing arts, with a number of hands-on activities, music performances, and theatrical shows scheduled throughout the day.
Facilitated by the City of Moreton Bay council, the Anywhere Festival is part of the council’s ongoing ‘Cultivate the Arts’ program, designed to support the growth and development of local creative professionals and arts and culture in the community. Running from May 8th to 25th, the Anywhere Festival features a number of shows and workshops in multiple suburbs throughout the Moreton Bay region.
The North Lakes mini-festival will bring the energy and fun of the festival to the North Lakes community. Starting at 9:30 am, the day will feature something for all ages, from puppet shows, kids comedy theatre and hands-on activities to performances from the Northside Soul Sisters and the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble. The day rounds out with the IDAHOBIT Gala, celebrating the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT).
