A community centre in North Lakes is holding a workshop for tween age girls that teaches useful tools to manage friendships.
Families with pre-teen daughters in North Lakes can get involved in this upcoming holiday workshop. Three hours long, the session is called “Tween Talk – Navigating Friendships in a Girl’s World”, and offers valuable tips and strategies that drive productivity and positivity.
Civic centres running courses and workshops for young people often collaborate with brochure printing services to create literature for parents that explains what sessions entail.
The autumn workshop covers a range of topics that tweens needs to know about when making and managing pre-teen friendships. These include what a healthy friendship looks and feels like, how to handle drama, common problems that occur in groups of friends and how to be a great friend. The session also helps tweens identify what qualities are important in a friend.
The Tween Talk friendship workshop will take place at North Lakes Community Centre on Friday, April 3. The session has a start time of 9 am and runs until noon. Enrolment is priced between $51.50 and $56.50, and the centre is sited at 10 The Corso in North Lakes.
To attend the drop-and-go workshop, girls must be at least eight years old and be in Year Three or higher. A parent must be present to sign their daughter in and out of the event.
