Residents tune up for night of carol singing

Carols are set to echo around the streets of North Lakes, Queensland, at the end of this week, when the local community comes together to celebrate the festive season.

The annual North Lakes Christmas Carols have returned and families have been encouraged to muster up all their festive spirit, grab a chair and blanket, and join family and friends at the free community event.

Our Village Foundation’s Melissa Gooderham, who is organising the night, said it would include performances from groups and local schools, and feature a program packed with everyone’s favourite carols.

To complement the action on stage, those attending festivities will also be able to enjoy a visit from Santa Claus, twilight markets, and a massive fireworks display.

A host of free activities such as Christmas craft workshops and a jumping castle will also be available at the event, which will be run over four hours from 4pm to 8pm.

North Lakes printing services have also been busy preparing words to all the popular Christmas songs.

The venue for this year’s carols night – to be held on December 7th – is The Corso, corner of Lakefield and North Lakes drives. The site is a vacant block and is located directly opposite Westfield North Lakes.

Gooderham said the new venue was both spacious and close to ample parking facilities at the shopping centre.
