As Signs start to go up around North Lakes and Flyers are posted out to locals and running enthusiasts across the region, training and preparation for participants in the Lakes College Fun Run is starting to really ramp up.
Various runs will start in the Lakes College grounds before winding their way through the beautiful bushland, lakes and pathways of the North Lakes Master Planned Community.
There are events catering for all levels of competitor with, a 2km run/walk commencing at 8:20 am, a 5km walk/run at 8:10 am and the main event, which is a 10km run, kicking off at 8:00 am.
For those looking to get a group of friends or work colleagues together as a fundraising team, the Community Shield Time Trial offers the opportunity for teams of four to take part in the 2km race, with the team achieving the four fastest aggregate times being crowned the winner. With charity fundraising being a key outcome of the day, guests can expect to see all manner of fancy dress and costumes being worn by participants, particularly in the 2km event.
