Important youth housing information to be shared at North Lakes conference

The Chameleon Community Conference ‘Housing First Focus’ will be held next month.

The North Lakes conference aims to promote awareness of current housing issues, health and suicide issues, and available services for vulnerable clients. The conference will also focus on Indigenous young people. The main guest speaker will be Professor Cameron Parsell from the University of Queensland, while other names include Dr Phil Crane from the University of the Sunshine Coast, Tammy Wallace, Indigenous Practice Consultant, and Dan Mobbs from SafeSide Prevention. Keith Morris will speak on behalf of the Queensland Police Force Vulnerable Persons Unit. Organisations involved in the conference may use business card printing and Letterheads to ensure their contact details are correct for networking purposes. There will also be a panel discussion on the day facilitated by Professor Parsell, with morning tea and lunch provided.

Chameleon Youth Housing exists to provide safe housing and other support services to young homeless people. The organisation’s programmes include crisis accommodation for young people, transitional housing for young parents, and pre- and post-natal care services. The organisation was a finalist in the 2022 Moreton Bay Business and Innovation Awards.

The Chameleon Community Conference is to be held on Friday October 20th, from 8am until 4pm, at the North Lakes Hotel, 22 Lakefield Drive, North Lakes. Tickets start at $59.26.
