Sporting clubs in North Lakes are among nine in the region to benefit from up to $60,000 in grants to the community from North Lakes Sports Club.
The funding, announced recently, represents the first community contribution by the new $25m licensed venue, which is expected to open its doors at North Lakes in late April.
Once complete, the North Lakes Sports Club will be operated and established by Caboolture Sports Club Ltd, which is a not-for-profit community organisation. It will feature many modern facilities, with promotional Flyers and Brochures listing function and meeting rooms, entertainment and gaming facilities, a 300-seat restaurant with alfresco deck outdoors, a kids club and a café.
Recipients of the organisation’s inaugural Sporting Development Fund grants include The Lakes Football Club, North Lakes Leopards Junior Rugby Union, North Lakes Mustangs Soccer and Redcliffe Tigers Australian Football.
The Group Sport and Community Manager at Caboolture Sports Club, Tony Clarke, said the funding will be of benefit to about 2,200 sportspeople from the local area.
He said despite the club not being open for business as yet, the grants illustrated a commitment and determination to provide for community groups and sport across the entire North Lakes region.
Clarke said the latest funding specifically targeted winter season sporting groups, with summer season funding opportunities opening in May.
