The council recently announced a free new programme called Joy Connection, which gives participants a chance to take part in everything from dancing, singing and painting with watercolours to sand geometry-style meditation.
Mayor of Moreton Bay Peter Flannery said the initiative complements the council's list of summer activities, which ranges from interactive workshops to exhibitions. The new programme, he said, will stir the soul, and he added:
“The Joy Connection program is a fun and safe way to ease into arts and culture for people of all ages and abilities looking to try something different.”
As part of the new programme, Meredith Gaston, internationally acclaimed illustrator and author, will be conducting wellness and watercolour workshops throughout January, and will also be a featured guest on a wellbeing and arts discussion panel to be held on January 23 at the Caboolture Hub.
Events such as this are often widely advertised via media coverage and flyer printing campaigns.
Mayor Flannery said participants of the new programme, which was put together by the council's Cultural Services department, could expect to receive some of Gaston's amazing insights into writing, reading, culture and the arts during the discussion panel.
Bookings for the workshops and activities and further information can be secured by visiting the council's website.
