Ed Sheeran performs at Childrens Hospital in Queensland

Ed Sheeran has delighted fans in the Queensland Children’s Hospital with a surprise visit and impromptu performance.

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who is currently touring Australia, made time for sick children, their families and several of the staff in the hospital. He gave them an acoustic rendition of some of his most well-known songs. One patient was able to duet ‘Thinking Out Loud’ with him and said Ed was very friendly:

“That was like a dream. It was fun.”

One staff member commented on how lovely Ed was with the patients, making time for them and listening to their stories. Another fan was a little bit starstruck and forgot the words when Ed was singing next to them.

A video posted on Instagram by the hospital thanked Ed for making special memories with all of the staff and sick children. The video showed him giving bedside performances to patients, chatting and taking selfies with fans.

Sheeran was also spotted enjoying the Australian weather at Byron Bay at the weekend with his wife and two children. His current tour started at the beginning of February in Wellington, New Zealand and ends on Sunday 12th March in Perth.
