Bright future predicted for North Lakes

According to a new government report, North Lakes looks set to become an important mini city hub.

South East Queensland Regional Plan 2017, called Shaping SEQ, is both a report and a projection. Released last month, the plan predicts possible outcomes for the area, based on data from industry, transport and roads, the environment, housing and population.

All current information leads to the assumption that Brisbane will become one of Australia’s global economic cities. This will cause expansion into the surrounding suburbs. Since the Moreton Bay region is already one of Brisbane’s fastest-growing and most sought-after areas, it is expected that North Lakes will benefit from this expansion.

Recent opportunities for growth and employment have already taken off in North Lakes with the extended Westfield mall and the new IKEA. As the next generation is more likely to seek both education and employment closer to their homes rather than commute, more opportunities will open in these northern suburbs, such as the ‘Mill at Moreton Bay’ in Petrie, the home of the new University of the Sunshine Coast (USC).

If such growth continues, the combined North Lakes and Mango Hill area could see increased business opportunities, necessitating the need for plenty of new printing services such as Logo Design and business card printing.
