Students from the University of NSW (UNSW) have been brainstorming together for the last six weeks and will finally be able to showcase their ideas on how to improve the university experience next month.
Fourteen teams of students will go head to head as they pitch their ideas in front of a panel of judges, their peers and the general public at the UNSW Heroes Ideasfest. The teams will compete for a place in the finals.
Guests are invited to come along and support the teams, listen to their ideas and vote on any of the pitches, as well as support the students’ endeavours.
The aim of the Ideasfest is to bring to the forefront innovative ideas that will help the university move closer towards the UNSW 2025 Strategic Plan. The plan outlines a set of priorities and themes which will determine how the university will perform over the next 10 years, as it prepares to position itself as Australia’s ‘Global University’.
The afternoon will include an exhibition followed by team pitches. After each pitch will be a two minute question and answer session for judges to find out more about each idea. Flyer printing may be used to advertise this or other upcoming events at the university.
The Heroes Ideasfest will be held on Thursday 10th October at 3pm in the John Niland Scientia Building, which is situated close to Randwick Racecourse.
