Secondhand sales bonanza coming to Randwick

Randwick residents can pick up plenty of bargains later this month, with a number of people signing up to take part in this year’s Garage Sale Trail.

The nationwide event aims to encourage people to sell their unwanted goods rather than sending items to landfill, or leaving them to clutter up their homes.

Last year, more than 350,000 people took part and nearly three million items were on sale.

Around 20 sales are currently listed in the Randwick city area, with bargain hunters able to buy everything from women’s clothing and baby items, to original artwork.

Many of the sales are being held by individual homeowners, but some residents, like those in John Street, Randwick, have got together to host a larger sale.

Poster printing and Flyers are both cost-effective ways of advertising a garage sale to locals before the event. On the day, sellers could use banner printing to draw attention to their goods.

Sales can also be registered on the official Garage Sale Trail website. All events are included on the list of sales, which features details of the time and location as well as particularly interesting items that may attract attention.

This year’s event is being held on Saturday October 24. For more information about holding a sale, visit the Garage Sale Trail website or contact Randwick City Council.
