An environmentally friendly project is coming soon to Randwick.
A community Planting Day will now be held in Randwick this September. The upcoming event is part of the city’s celebrations for National Biodiversity Month. Organisers of important city-wide events sometimes enlist the aid of professional banner printing services to create large-scale signage that invites members of the public to get involved.
The “Plant with Us” day is organised by Randwick Council’s project called Greening Our City. The initiative aims to increase the indigenous and native plant life around Randwick. Its intention is also to help remove carbon dioxide and reduce climate change by storing more carbon in soil and trees while releasing oxygen into our atmosphere.
Attendees are invited to participate and learn about plants while getting their hands dirty. Those taking part will also get a chance to help create ideal habitats for a whole host of living creatures who call New South Wales home.
The Community Planting Day will take place at the Randwick Environment Park, located at the corner of Dooligah Avenue and Burragulung Street, on Thursday, September 1. The event begins at 8.30 am and end at 1 pm.
Those attending should wear a hat, sturdy shoes, long trousers, shirts with long sleeves, their own pair of gloves and a water bottle. While masks are not mandatory, participants are advised to wear them.
