The best and brightest in Australian journalism are set to gather at Randwick’s Royal Racecourse to celebrate the achievements of those in their respective fields.
The NRMA Kennedy Awards, currently in its 10th year, will also be raising awareness for the media focused charity The Kennedy Foundation, which supports journalistic colleagues and their families in times of hardship.
Announcing winners in 34 categories, including the coveted Kennedy Prize for Journalist of the Year, the event was organised in memory of veteran crime reporter Les Kennedy, who passed away from cancer in 2011. The award ceremony and the gala event is held close to the anniversary of Kennedy’s passing in August. Award ceremonies and industry events such as this can benefit from Corporate Gifts on behalf of organisers and sponsors.
Last year’s Kennedy Prize went to 60 Minutes’ Nick McKenzie, who also writes as a senior journalist for The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald. In a year that has been categorised by several major events, competition for this year’s prize winner will be fierce.
The 10th Annual NRMA Kennedy Awards for Excellence in Journalism is scheduled to take place on Friday, 6th August at the Randwick Royal Raceway. Tickets and table bookings for what is planned to be a major night for Australian journalism are available from the Kennedy Awards website.
