Randwick museum offers unique look at Australian history

Randwick history buffs are in for a treat later this month, as Roxanne Fea, head of the famous La Perouse Museum, is set to offer a unique tour focusing on a series of artefacts that will reveal 10 untold stories that are a key part of the larger history of the nation.

Dubbed “5 Themes, 10 Stories”, this unique guided tour opportunity will allow participants to unravel the secrets behind some of the museum’s smallest objects, such as a Depression-era brooch right through to its largest prize, the rarely viewed interior of the colonial era Macquarie Watchtower itself. Guided historical tours and museums such as this can benefit from brochure printing for informational purposes.

Opened in 1988, the La Perouse Museum itself is housed within a significant piece of Australian history – the historic Cable Station building at Kamay Botany Bay National Park, which once served as Australia’s only communication link to the world at large. Housing over 2,000 items of great historical value, this fascinating tour opportunity will allow participants to engage with untold aspects of national history in an intimate fashion rarely available to the public at large.

The 5 Themes, 10 Stories tour is scheduled for Saturday, 26th June at 1pm. Available spaces for the tour are limited, and bookings are essential. Tickets and further information on the tour and the museum itself are available from the City of Randwick website.
