Randwick City residents can enjoy a free day at the races this month, thanks to the annual Community Race Day.
The event at the Royal Randwick Racecourse features
eight races on the day including the Group 2 Pro-Ride Warwick Stakes and the Silver Shadow Stakes, which both have prize money of $175,000, and is part of the build up to the Sydney Spring Carnival which starts in September.
Children who are not so interested in the racing will be kept entertained by the petting zoo, jumping castle and face painters as well as getting the chance to ride a pony, while visitors can enjoy a range of food.
Anyone attending the event might like to get a photograph of family members dressed in their best outfits and ask a Print company to create a high-quality copy of the picture to frame as a memento.
The free tickets are available to anyone within the Randwick City area including Maroubra and Bondi Junction as long as they pay council rates.
Residents can claim tickets by following the link on the Randwick City Council website. The tickets allow two adults entry to the event while children under the age of 18 can also get in free.
