An up-and-coming talent in pop music is bringing her unique sounds to Sydney for a gig in the new year.
Music lovers from Randwick and other celebrated suburbs of the city will soon be able to see British-Japanese icon Rina Sawayama on stage concer,t as she plays the Sydney Roundhouse while touring New Zealand and Australia this January. Named after her new album and its title track, the 2023 tour is called “Hold the Girl”. As well as appearing in Sydney the tour will also take Sawayama to Auckland, Brisbane, and Melbourne. Often compared to Lady Gaga, the pop star has already enjoyed critical success in her career. Her self-titled debut was lauded as one of the albums of the year in 2020 by numerous periodicals including The New York Times and Rolling Stone.
The multi-talented performer will also be acting on the big screen next year in the action picture John Wick 4 starring Keanu Reeves which is set for release on March 23.
Rina Sawayama will perform live at the Roundhouse located at Anzac Parade in Kensington, Sydney on Thursday, January 12. The show will begin at 8 pm and ends at 10.30 pm.
