The Lifeguard Challenge is held annually to raise funds to aid the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation. The event has traditionally drawn great support from visitors and residents who also dig deep to make the challenge a success each year, according to Mayor of Sutherland Shire, Carmelo Pesce who added:
“The staff at Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick deliver lifesaving specialist care to kids who are seriously ill or injured, including many families from the Sutherland Shire.”
He said the appreciation for their vital work from the local community has ensured great support for the event over and over again.
Randwick Mayor Danny Said is confident the Randwick lifeguards will put on a top performance when they come up against their neighbouring rivals in the challenge and urged everyone to turn up and show their support.
Printing services are often enlisted at fundraising events such as this to help them to run as smoothly as possible.
Money raised from the event in previous years has assisted in securing important lifesaving equipment such as an ambulatory EEG monitor and emergency department trauma beds.
The Lifeguard Challenge kicks off at 6:30am on Bondi Beach on March 15 and ends with a barbecue at the finish line on Cronulla Beach at 10:30am.
