Funding opportunity for creative and community projects

Randwick City Council is offering new funding opportunities for community members.

As part of the City's new donations and grants framework, the city has adopted two programmes known as ‘Community Creative’ and ‘Community Connect’.

Creative subjects such as performing arts, fashion, visual arts, film, publishing, music and design are being targeted in the Community Creative programme while activities, events and projects that encourage people to connect with each other are sought for the Community Connect funding.

According to a Randwick Council spokesperson, both of the funding initiatives are listed under the Community Investment Programme and each has specific aims in mind, with Community Connect targeting ideas that can boost social inclusion and local participation. In a media release, it was stated:

"Randwick City Council is committed to empowering our local communities through providing targeted financial assistance in ideas, initiatives and services which are inclusive, needs based, impact-full and create a ‘sense of community’."

Meanwhile, Community Creative will focus specifically on the delivery and development of cultural, artistic and creative projects that enhance the community through innovative thinking and experimental ideas that can drive change and boost opportunities in the local area.

Art and culture are undertakings that are often showcased through strategic brochure printing campaigns that promote major events and attractions in Randwick.

Applications for the latest rounds of grants for both funding programmes close on August 3 and can be made online on council's website.
