Exhibition opening to come to Randwick

Randwick locals are preparing for an exhibition opening coming to the suburb this August.

The exhibit will feature the artists-in-residence at Barrett House.

Barrett House provides fully subsidised residencies for multidisciplinary artists. The Arts and Culture team of the Council provides support.

There are three artists exhibiting this year: Tia Arya Putra, Bernadette Smith, and Keroshin Govender.

Putra is a bicultural artist, investigating culture and feminism in mixed media, and Smith is a photomedia artist interested in environmental issues. Many of Govender's creations focus on visual arts, ethnicity and culture.

These artists were in residence at Barrett House for three months, and during that time, they have worked on the development of their artistic practice.

Participants will get the first chance to look at the artworks before they open to the general public.

Arts and cultural event organisers can promote their events with items such as promotional Pens. They stylishly encourage personalised recognition and ensure businesses or organisations receive recognition long after an event has passed.

The Barrett House exhibition opening will be held on Thursday, 14 August. The venue will be Barrett House, which can be found at 6 Barrett Place in Randwick. The exhibition opens at 6.00 PM and closes at 8.00 PM. Entry is free, and refreshments will be provided. Bookings are essential and can be made through the Randwick City Council website.
