Evening with Sophies Boys author coming up in Randwick

Members of the public will be able to meet the author of Sophie’s Boys at an evening in Randwick this November.

Sophie Smith will speak to the audience about her book, which Journals her personal story of tragedy turned into renewal and hope. The book recounts Sophie’s journey of how at just 21 weeks, she went into labour with triplets. From the pain of loss, Sophie tells an inspiring story of courage and love which led to her taking up running and founding her charity, Running for Premature Babies.

Funds raised by the foundation go to vital hospital equipment and medical research into premature births. The charity has raised over $2.5 million with funds used to benefit more than 4,000 babies. Over 1,500 runners also now participate in the charity runs.

Refreshments will be offered during the evening and patrons are encouraged to bring their own reusable cup to minimise any environmental impact.

The event is sponsored by the Randwick City Council, which may use images of attendees for promotion on council’s website. Events such as this may also use printing services as part of their marketing campaigns.

The evening will be held at the Margaret Martin Library in Randwick on Wednesday 13th November at 6:30pm. Entry is free and Books will be available to purchase on the evening.
