The Wild Play Discovery Centre in Centennial Park has plenty of fun activities for children of all ages and interests during January.
Located close to the heart of Sydney and adjacent to Randwick racecourse, Centennial Parklands are an oasis of native bushland where children and adults can connect with the natural environment.
The Parklands runs a Bush School program for children from 2-5 years and in January, it will offer some come and try sessions. In Kids vs. Wild Water Fun, children aged 5-12 years can experience dip netting in the Parklands ponds, make a water filter and run a gauntlet of wet sponges.
At Bush Pizza Picnic, children will learn how the local Aboriginal people used native plants and they will make a pizza from ingredients found in the park. Bush Rangers Water Fun offers children a day of bushcraft, games, outdoor challenges and free play.
The King and Queen of Green is an interactive theatre show for 4-10-year olds about how to reduce the amount of rubbish sent to landfill. Fizzics Education will offer sessions on Extreme Engineering, where children are challenged to design and build various contraptions. Another session called Gross and Gory will see children enjoy delights such as making vomit bombs, fake snot and exploding pimples.
Activity programs often use brochure printing to inform people of the options available. Booking details for these events can be seen on the Randwick City Council website.
