Special guest performer at orchestral evening in Newcastle

World famous pianist Polina Leschenko is set to perform with the Australian Chamber Orchestra in Newcastle next month.

Leschenko will accompany director and lead violinist Richard Tognetti and the orchestra as they bring the works of Chopin and Mendelssohn to the Newcastle stage. The orchestra will play Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor, as well as Mendelssohn’s Concerto for Violin and Piano, two classically popular works. There will also be a performance of Fanny Mendelssohn’s String Quarter in E-flat Major.

Organisers of orchestral concerts such as this often use poster printing services to inform audience members about upcoming dates. The concert will run for approximately two hours and will include an interval.

Polina Leschenko was born in Russia and made her debut in St Petersburg when she was just eight years old. Since then, she has performed as a solo pianist all over the world. Richard Tognetti was born in Wollongong and became Artistic Director of the Australian Chamber Orchestra in 1990. The orchestra itself was established by cellist John Painter, and has been performing since 1975.

The Australian Chamber Orchestra with Polina Leschenko will perform at the Newcastle City Hall at 7:30pm on Thursday November 9th. The venue is located at 290 King Street, Newcastle, and tickets range in price from $49 to $149.
